Unwinding & Feeding System: A roll of plastic material (e.g., PS, PP, PET) is fed into the machine.

Heating Station: The plastic sheet passes through an oven where ceramic heaters or infrared panels heat it to a precise, pliable temperature.

Forming Station: The heated sheet is indexed into the forming station. A mold (typically a positive mold for cups) closes onto the sheet. Simultaneously,

a combination of vacuum (to suck the air out, pulling the sheet onto the mold) and pressure (compressed air to push the sheet into detailed features) 

is applied to form the cup shape.
